We get sent a lot of film treats here at BRWC, so here’s a place we can share them with you.  They’ll be clips, trailers, images and posters, links and all sorts.  Enjoy.

I’m a big fan of sci-fi movies, and it turns out that a lot of the medical technology used in some of my favourite films is not actually complete fiction. Here’s an infographic to show some of the amazing inventions that have been dreamt up and are actually on their way to becoming reality.

The original 3D printing pen 3Doodler, released an exclusive Star Trek Crew Edition pen sets with CBS Consumer Products. The exclusive pen set is part of Kickstarter’s ‘Gold’ campaign, offering a limited release of six Star Trek Crew Edition pen sets that pay homage to both Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Games Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke plays a young nurse attempting to unravel sinister secrets in a Tuscan castle, in this tantalising mix of ghostly mystery classics The Others and The Woman In Black. Fans of Clarke will be pleased to note that the film is released the same day the final episode of season seven of Game of Thrones is broadcast.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel.  After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.  As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

Netflix has released a new clip for the highly anticipated series Ozark. Jason Bateman, who serves as an executive producer and director, stars as Marty Byrde, alongside Academy Award ® nominee Laura Linney as his wife Wendy.  The Byrdes and their teenage kids, Charlotte and Jonah, are, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary family with ordinary lives. Except for the job of Marty, a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. When things go awry, Marty must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks.  This dark drama, which also stars Esai Morales, Julia Garner, Marc Menchaca, Jason Butler Harner and Harris Yulin, explores capitalism, family dynamics and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans.

London’s criminal underworld is in for the shock of its life this summer as career, crime and personal revenge collide to explosive effect in LONDON HEIST, coming to DVD and digital download from July 17th, courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment.  Craig Fairbrass (The Bank Job, Rise Of The Footsoldier) is Jack Cregan, career criminal, family man and vicious armed robber, on a mission for revenge following his father’s brutal murder. The shattering revelations that follow force Jack to pull off one last dangerous robbery on his way to exacting a brutal revenge on all those involved.

Starring Academy Award nominees Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams with Zac Efron, Zendaya and Rebecca Ferguson, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is directed by Michael Gracey and showcases original music from Academy Award and Tony Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“La La Land”).

Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) is from a blue-collar family from the hills of West Virginia, whose clan has been famous for its bad luck for nearly 90 years. After being fired from his job, and with his ex-wife (Katie Holmes) threatening to move out of State taking their daughter with her, Jimmy decides he has to do something to get his family’s life back on track. With a little help from his brother Clyde Logan (Adam Driver), his sister Mellie (Riley Keough) and an incarcerated explosive expert, the aptly named Joe Bang (Daniel Craig), he plans to steal $14 million from the Charlotte Motor Speedway on the busiest race day of the year.  Directed by Academy Award-winner Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven, Magic Mike, Traffic), Logan Lucky also stars Hilary Swank, Seth MacFarlane, Katherine Waterston, Sebastian Stan, and Brian Gleeson.

Adventurous and charismatic, Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield – Hacksaw Ridge, Silence) has his whole life ahead of him when he is paralysed by polio whilst in Africa. Against all advice, Robin’s wife Diana (Claire Foy – Golden Globe Winner, The Crown, Wolf Hall) brings him home from hospital where her devotion and witty determination transcends his disability. Together they refuse to be imprisoned by his suffering; dazzling others with their humour, courage and lust for life. BREATHE is a heart-warming and highly emotional celebration of bravery and human possibility, a love story about living every breath as though it’s your last.  Based on the true story of producer Jonathan Cavendish’s own parents, BREATHE shows how Robin’s handling of and reaction to his illness had a huge impact on mobility and access for the disabled.

That’s your lot for now, more soon enough.
