Who’s The Next Oscars Host?

film reviews | movies | features | BRWC Who's The Next Oscars Host?

I imagine hosting the Oscars is a tough gig to pull off, requiring weeks of preparation for that one performance that usually gets slated because the show has run long or films like Crash wins Best Picture or you know…  It’s not easy being a host.

Both Chris Rock and Jimmy Kimmel have received decent reviews for hosting under difficult and unique circumstances, but it’s doubtful either will be back for 2018.  So it lead to thinking, who should host it next year?  Kevin Spacey is apparently the early favourite to host next year.  He’d be an interesting choice, for sure.  But I have a number of other choices:

Louis C.K.

Just let Louis C.K. write, direct, produce and edit the Oscars all by himself.  It would be an experience.  He has the balls to carry the whole thing, and also run with any pitfalls the live awards show would bring.  His sense of humour would be a nice fit for his hosting gig.
