Certainly agree with “Bandslam” being something of a surprise: smartly scripted, nicely acted, and thankfully free of the kind of US teenagers that Disney would have us think are typical (hello Camp Rock). But one of the best 10 movies of the year? Really?
My list would probably include “Star Trek”, if only for its casting and the audacity of its reebooting of the series. None of the others though would make my personal list. I’d have “Moon” there, and “Public Enemies” way up there. “Antichrist” too would make my list – though it’s clearly a difficult film I think it’ll stand the test of time and be seen as important in 10 years’ time.
It’s such a personal thing really, but it would be great to have a paragraph on each of your choices, telling us why they’re there.
Thanks for sharing your list!

Hmm, very intrigued by Bandslam!
I liked the Hannah Montana movie.
Maybe I’ll give it a go.

As far as Bandslam being in the top ten goes it should be noted that several of my top films for 2008 were actually released prior to August, in other words before Battle Royale With Cheese was created, so I haven’t included them. If I had Bandslam would have been further down the top ten if not out of it altogether.

Also, as for Moon, I was unable to see it unfortunately due to no cinema anywhere near me showing it and personally I was extremely disappointed with Public Enemies.
